4 More Provincial Champions Crowned
Prince Edward Island and Newfoundland Labrador have declared their champions for the Canadian Men's and Women's Curling Championships.
Brooke Godsland wins Newfoundland/Labrador Women’s Championship
St. John’s Brooke Godsland and her teammates Erin Porter, Sarah McNeil Lamswood, and Camille Burt will be making their first trip to the Scott Tournament of Hearts after beating St. John’s Carrie Vautour 10 to 4 in yesterday’s Championship Final of the Provincial Women’s Curling Championship.
Godsland went 5 & 1 in the event, and was in control of the Championship final throughout the game, winning by a score of 10 to 4.

Ty Dilello wins Newfoundland/Labrador Men’s Championship
St. John’s Ty Dilello and his teammates Ryan McNeill Lamswood, Daniel Bruce and Aaron Feltham stole one in the 10th end to defeat St. John’s Andrew Symonds 6 to 5 to win their first Provincial Men’s Championship and advance to the Montana’s Brier in Kelowna.
Dilello was the strongest team in the field throughout the event, finishing with a 10 & 1 record, and leading the field in most analytic categories.

Prince Edward Island Crowns Women’s & Men’s Champions
Jane DiCarlo and her teammates Veronica Mayne, Sabrina Smith and Whitney Jenkins defeated Team Hillary Selkirk 8 to 7 in the C Event Final to sweep all three events of the Provincial Women’s Curling Championship and eliminate the need for a playoff round.
And Tyler Smith will be heading back to the Brier after also sweeping all three events of the Men’s Provincial Curling Championship. Smith and his teammates Adam Cocks, Christopher Gallant, and Edward White defeated Team Darren Higgins 8-6 in the C-Event Final to eliminate the need for a playoff round.
It will be the 4th straight trip to the Brier for Team Smith.
