Schwaller & Carson win Mercure Perth Masters in Perth, Scotland
Teams Xenia Schwaller and Orrin Carson won the biggest money bonspiel in the world over the weekend in Perth, Scotland
Schwaller defeats Wang in Championship Final
Switzerland’s Xenia Schwaller won her 2nd event in the past few weeks with a 7-4 win over China’s Rui Wang in the final of the Mercure Perth Masters in Perth, Scotland, which had a purse of $38,250 Canadian dollars
Schwaller and Wang were tied at 2 when Schwaller scored a 5 ender in the 6th end of the final to take control of the game.
Schwaller was a perfect 6 & 0 in the event, and led the field with the lowest Steal Defence of .10 during the event.
Schwaller also won the RBC Dominion Securities Western Showdown in Swift Current, Saskatchewan last month.
Carson defeats Muirhead in Championship Final
On the Men’s side of the draw, Scotland’s Orrin Carson beat Scotland’s Glen Muirhead 9 to 3 in the Final.
Carson took 4 points with the hammer in the first end to take control of the game, and he scored another 3 in the 3rd end to take a commanding 7 to 2 lead. Muirhead conceded after Carson took 2 in the fifth to make it a 9-3 final.
